Olfactometers are used to test preferential movement of invertebrates towards distinct odor sources. In order to maintain consistent airflow for each odor choice, olfactometer arenas require clean and controlled air pushed into each arm and steady vacuum to pull the exhaust out.
Vassays supplies airflow options for different laboratory configurations. OLF Air Kits provide a bank of flowmeters to control the airflow, tubing, and other accessories needed for each option below.
Used to run Y-tube or 4-arm olfactometer assays if you have in-lab air and vacuum supplies, or benchtop pumps (pressure and vacuum). Three-stage oil/water filter required (purchased separately).
Pressurized air passes through the 3-stage oil/water filter and a custom activated carbon filter to reduce external VOCs and other contaminants, then through a bank of 4 low-range adjustable flowmeters. Vacuum supply passes through a regulator and flowmeter for a steady exhaust stream.
